NewTom Software

AFP Imaging: The Future of 3D Radiography

NewTom NNT Analysis Software | NewTom Implant Planning Software

NewTom NNT analysis software enables the dentist to realize the greatest benefit from three-dimensional CBCT images. It allows the dentist to perform initial diagnoses and subsequently to superimpose images for assessing growth, treatment changes, and the stability of treatment. The software supports the identification of such things as root inclination, positioning of impacted and supernumerary teeth, resorption, hyperplastic growth, and tooth structure anomalies.

This powerful and easy to use software provides advanced features like the ability to mark the mandibular canal and develop unlimited custom report images. AFP Imaging also provides full-functionality professional/DICOM/MIP software upon request.

NewTom software is compatible with all major third party vendors. In just seconds, the NewTom acquires 360 x-ray views, which are reconstructed into a 3D database of the patient’s anatomy. This image can be sent directly to Dolphin Imaging software, or conversion to DICOM 3 is built-in and compatible with all major third party software and systems.

Build Ceph [40.3 MB] – With NNT it is possible to build a cephlometric image directly from the 3D Reconstruction. Simply load the volume, select the orientation – in this case facing right. A full cephlomentic is obtained directly from the volume. This volume can also be colorized based on different densities within the volume. Additionally, using a axial image it is possible to crop out part of the volume. This eliminates superimposition of the other side of the jaw and results in a crisp, clear cephlometric image.

Mark Canal [48.5 MB] – Implantologists using NewTom CBCT can accurately identify and mark the mandibular canal for confident implant placement. By selecting a plane on an axial image a hemi-panoramic makes marking the simple. Once marked a series of cross sections can be obtained from the plane drawn earlier. In this case there are over 100 slices, with a user defined thickness. The previously marked mandibular canal is seen as a single red dot in each of the slices where the canal intersected the cross-section plane. It possible to clearly identify the canal with 100% certainty at along the entire canal, making implant placement easy and confident.

MPR [12.3 MB] - MRP or Multi Planar Reconstruction visually shows the relative movement of 1 view (sagittal, coronal, or axial) with relation to the other 2 views. This is seen by the movement of the blue scroll bar and corresponding blue line as it traverses through the other two views. As we move up and down through the anatomy we see where we are in relation to the other two views.

PanotoCS [68.9 MB] (Panoramic to Cross-Section) This video shows that with the NNT software it is possible to slice or “filet” out a panoramic at a given slice or height on an axial image. Once this Panoramic is chosen, NNT has a function that will give the user cross sectioned images along that same panoramic plane.

Recon [18.0 MB] – In this video we show the scanning process and how we are capturing 360 images or 1 per rotational degree, more than any other CBCT machine on the market. 111 out of 360 images are seen in this short video.

TMJReport [47.8 MB] – This video highlights two features within the NNT software. First, we are doing a TMJ study on this patient. We have moved up the patients anatomy to the Tempro-Mandiublar joint and will take cross sections in this area. Secondly, this video highlights the Report feature within NNT. We select a TMJ specific report where which is commonly used for studies of this nature and then add specific images to the study. This feature is akin to a patient chart or record where we can archive the report on a hard-drive or DVD, or print the report and send it back to the referring doctor in the case of an imaging center. The final report includes all of the patient data and time of scan.

NewTom Implant Planning Software (NIP) enables you the implant specialist to utilize CBCT images to create detailed plans for performing implant surgery on your own personal computer. It provides accurate assessment of the thickness and morphology of bone at implant anchorage sites, as well as supporting unequaled quality panoramic, axial, and cross-sectional images. It’s designed to complement NewTom NNT Analysis software for implant applications, and it is compatible with software used in creating surgical templates for use in guided surgery implant placements. You can simulate the implant position on 2D and 3D models, identify the mandibular canal, draw panoramics and cross sections of the bone model, show the 3D bone model and calculate the bone density. Using NewTom Implant Planning the Dentist can plan the prothesis implant operation in a safer, more efficent and faster way.

Supported Formats. NewTom Implant Planning reads axial slices saved in DICOM 3.0 medical format.

2D & 3D. NewTom Implant Planning generates panoramic, cross sections and 3D bone models reading the axial slices. This enables you to know both the patient anatomic model under all respects and the exact implant position with respect to the mandibular canal and the bone structure before the dental operation.

Measures and Information. NewTom Implant Planning helps you to plan the prothesis implant operation by identifying both the implant and mandibular canal positions. You can then perform accurate measurements and calculate bone density. This is a great aid, allowing you to perform the procedure more quickly and effectively.

A useful communication & motivation tool. You can use the images generated by NewTom Implant Planning to communicate with the patient, in compliance with compulsory informed consent rules. Through the image exporting functions you can save your cases on a CD-ROM. Thanks to the user-friendly interface, learning the software is quick and easy.
